Macronomics: Banks Rejoice, But GDP Data and Credit Growth Do Not.

RBL Bank Listed today. And it went up some 30%, a big listing pop. But at the same time, we find that data on the macro, and in banking, isn't all that great. Here's some quick data, in charts: Lowest Deposit Growth in 25 years While banks get all this interest, and the Bank Nifty is at the highest level since Feb 2015, we find that banking deposits aren't quite growing that much.  Which looks bad but it's even worse when you see the data from 1994:
